Annika's POV The pounding in my head dragged me awake long before I was ready to open my eyes. I groaned into the pillow, burying my face deeper beneath it. I had not taken a single drop of alcohol last night, yet my head felt as though I had emptied an entire bottle by myself. Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the window blinds, painting golden stripes across the room. The brightness stabbed straight through my aching temples. A yawn slipped from my mouth as I tried to sit up and just spaced out for a good moment, trying to find the motivation to move. My body felt heavy and my mind still replayed fragments of last night.
