The dip

As listra graduated from university, she was confused as to which career she would take. The society she finds herself is one that only struggles to survive. One doesn’t have to pursue a career they studied , anything that fetched money goes. Listra is a talent any company wouldn’t want to miss. During her service year, she was seen as the best corp member as she humbly served the people around her. She was posted to a community that is quiet alien to her . Yet she never discriminate or made the citizens there feel unwanted.

Listra stood waiting for a taxi to avail for a job recruitment she saw online which she decided to submit her cv physically. As she stood there a car passed her splitting water on her neatly ironed white shirt. She stood gazing at her shirt speechless. Immediately the windscreen lowered and a head popped out. “Hello am so sorry for this” can you enter the car let me take you home for a change of cloth. Time was against listra. She thought she should go ahead and submit the application like that since it is not an interview. Looking at the young man infront of her he seemed to be worried by the damage he caused. She decided to let it slide. The man on the other hand has seen how calmly listra took it and noted that she is a nice person. He decided to know her more. Please at least let me drive you to your location since you insist going with the stained cloth. Listra doubted a bit and then obliged. She entered the car and they drove off to her destination. While driving they both stared at each other through the rear view mirror. Listra noticed the smirk on his face and wondered why he is that way. She shrugged it off. “Any way I wouldn’t meet him again let me just enjoy this ride for now “. Then she closed her eyes while telling him where she was going. How can feel safe inside a strangers vehicle, Mathew wondered.

The car stopped infront of the building. Mathew wondered if he should take her contact as this was the only chance he has.

Please can I have your contact, he questioned. At first listra looked suprised but on a second thought she quickly gave it to him. “I need to grow up, what has got me so worked up over a simple contact?”, she sighed. She came down sluggishly from the vehicle wondering why she is feeling that way. This is someone she just met few minutes ago, but she feels so comfortable around him. Okay I will call you later in the day said Mathew before entering his car. Listra looked him in the eyes feeling completely unaware she has stared long. This is the first time she has felt this attracted to a guy. She forced herself to look away and then walked briskly Into the building. “ I will just hand over this and go away”. As she walked into the building, Mathew stared at her back. He loved the way she walks;confident,daring and most of all alluring.

Hello sir am listra , I came to submit my cv for the job posting earlier. The man on the desk who was seriously searching for something looked up to see a beautiful but tardy lady. He was puzzled. Don’t tell me this lady dressed like this to look for a job. Listra got the gist but she immediately said; “sorry sir I had a little accident on my way”. The clerical officer saw how determined listra looked and nodded to himself saying this is the type of person the company needs. She didn’t care how people would see her , only her aim was what she wanted to achieve. Daniel collected the cv from her promising himself he would make sure she gets the job.

Sir I have packed the papers. I need you to look into the name listra, she seems to posses all the attribute you are searching for. The boss nodded and Daniel left the office.

Listra woke up with her phone ringing repeatedly. She picked the call. Hello, hello,hello. The person from the other end seems to be silent. She wanted to hang up when she heard a deep voice. She froze feeling the chills run through her spine.

Am I unto listra the voice said. “Yes please who is speaking”replied listra on the other end. I am Matthew. Sorry for waking you up so early, but I couldn’t stop being curious of the beautiful lady I met. Listra was happy Matthew called. She had actually waited for him to call her. How are you, do you mind coming out for a little hangout later in the day? I would really love to know you dear. Listra checked her schedule for the day and realized she can actually squeeze in that into her time.
