The next morning, I did something that made everyone look at me like I had suddenly grown two horns and a tail. I joined the family for breakfast. Carrie made Valerie go with her to shop for some things, so she wasn't here with me.
The family were all seated quietly, while I walked there, pulled out a seat and joined them. They all gave each other a glance, like I was some kind of evil spirit that had come to possess them.
"Where is Valerie?" Amelia asked after a while. "Since she forced you here, it is only proper that she joins in as well. She will be the Luna after all." She emphasized the word 'Luna' with a roll of her eyes. I smiled. How satisfying it would be to see her squirm and struggle with herself when Valerie finally becomes the Luna.
