Long after Valerie had slept, I was still awake. I called Bryce back to finish his report, but after that, I remained awake. I wasn't busy with anything. I purposely ignored all my duties for this night. The thought of my family kept me awake.
I wasn't exactly sad or disturbed about the situation. If I were, the s*x with Valerie put my mind at ease.
"I love you." I murmured, as I kissed the side of her head. She was currently lying with her head placed on my lap, while I ran my fingers smoothly through her hair.
