Anna didn’t make it. I couldn’t stop hearing those words in my head.
NYPD reports say the gunshots weren’t the cause of death. No.
They said her blood test showed poison, that someone in a nurse’s uniform got to her before she could talk. My chest tightened the moment I heard it.
Poison. Which proved Anna wasn’t in this alone. The woman who came into my house with a gun was just the face of something more dangerous.
So someone was behind it all, hiding in the dark, waiting for the right time to shut her up.
If she had spoken, I might have found out who the real enemy was. Now she’s gone, taking everything she knew to the grave.
