AVA’S POV The ride back home from the New York Police Department was a cool ride, people rushing to work, the traffic and all that was kind of refreshing to me. I rested in the car as Nicholas drove silently, while my thoughts refused to rest. It was messing my head up, causing me serious headaches. Gloria’s wicked acts filled my head. Her name sat heavy and hot in my chest. I could still picture her face, the smile she gave while fixing the children’s blankets, the fake sympathy she showed as the kids went missing.
