They left the compound on there bikes Ria had opted for an older looking bike this time a gpz Eric still on his Harley .

“ So where we going? “ he shouted .

She slowed down to answer “ there a town on out skirts I’ve not looted we found it on another map so thought let’s have a look “ Ria replied

The rode next to each other Ria couldn’t resist tormenting Eric “ so sorted yaself out then “ she joked .

Eric rolled his eyes at her “ really “ he replied .

“ Just making conversation “ she commented .

“ I could think of better topics “ he answered .

He noted she looked in good spirits today it then most he seen her smile .

“ So was you dreaming of Jill then “ she pushed .

Again he just looked at her .

“ Well if we going to be roomies some conversation be good “ she joked .

“About a different subject then please “ he said .

“I’m just curious “ she said .

“ What about my dreams “ he laughed .

Ria noted this was the first time he had smiled or laughed and it made her heart melt .

“What ?” He commented noticing the change in her face .

“ First time you smiled “ she said .

He met her gaze then looked back to the road.

Again she pushed she needed to know but why she couldn’t answer “ so was you dreaming of Jill “

She asked .

He suddenly decided to play her at her own game “ no you actually “ he replied again with a smile .

They met eyes again briefly then both back to the road “ whatever “ she laughed .

Deep down inside though there was a big grin was he actually being honest or just tormenting her “

She wasn’t letting him win this one .

“ Well “ she snapped back “ don’t dream if you need a hand for real I’m happy to oblige “

Eric just shook his head red filling his cheeks again and she just giggled but then pointed at the town after riding for an hour they approached the village both slowing down to be cautious the odd flesh eater hung around but no groups .

They both got off their bikes “ let’s split up “ Ria said eric grabbed her arm “ no we stay together “

Ria looked for a moment then pulled her arm away from his grip “ I work better alone “ she said

Eric shook his head “ the whole point of this is that you don’t need to now “ she stared at him for a moment she suddenly had this urge to kiss him but she pushed it to the back of her mind “ ok we will do it your way “ she said “ but just this once “ her face broke a grin again and Eric couldn’t help smiling back .

Ria noted that he had a lovely smile .

She distracted her self quickly with conversation” so what’s your story “ she asked why they started searching the shops .

Eric thought before answering there was a silence then he responded “ bit like you dead beat family , trouble with the law I don’t really talk about it “

“ I get that “ she said still smiling . God she was amazing having not had s*x or relationships before he wasn’t really sure about all these feelings he was having but part of him hated them part of him was quite enjoying them .

Ria went into a warehouse then shouted “ hit “

He followed her in to see a lorry full of food .

“ We will take this back “ she said .

They continued to look and found another one so they got them going and put the bikes in back of one and started driving the lorries back to the compound .

They both felt relief at a break from each other both drove back lost in thought mainly about each other .
