The Love Paradox

Chapter Eleven: What Now?

        “No! I want you and I want you now.” moaned Luna a she slowly crawled across the table towards me like a cat stalking it’s prey getting ready to pounce.

        “Well unfortunately I don’t really have the energy nor drive to really have s*x at all.” sighed as I handed her another beer and gave her my most serious glare even though I was really wanting her just as much if not more then her. “So please sit back in your chair have another beer with me or go home?”

        “Are you afraid of my brothers?” asked Luna as she slowly and sadly slide back into her chair taking the beer in her hand. She wasn’t defeated completely just yet. This was just another round to try a different approach. Once in her seat she added, “Or is it that you’re just not into girls? You and the pharaoh did seem to really get along. I mean it took some time to find his archived journals but when I did man had he really spilled the beans on what you two did and it was hot.”

        “No I’m more afraid of what I might do especially if I was to loose control with still being in the mood of my last mission. As for not liking girls well to be honest I’m willing to swing either way even though pharaoh was my first.” I confessed looking down at my almost empty bottle before sighing, “But I can let you be my first girl if you’d like.”

        “That would be wonderful I can go to your bedroom and get ready.” replied Luna as she started to stand up to which I shot her a glance.

        “Not tonight though. I need to relax and recover a bit, plus I’d hate to rush our relationship and have s*x right on the first date.” I replied taking the final sip of my beer before adding, “That is if you’re even considering this a date in the first place.”

        “Oh, umm, well to be honest I really hadn’t thought of it that way.” confessed Luna as she once more found her seat and just stared at her beer bottle before sighing, “I’m sorry”

        “You were just hoping to get s*x from me I understand I lead you on with my adventures as well as inviting you out for some drinks making you assume I wasn’t ready to settle in for the evening but really I just wanted some company. My trial mission really got me thinking how lonely my life really was that I’d jump in the driver’s seat of this crazy thing just fo a little adventure with a side of sex.” I confess as I look over at her before adding, “I know we only met not even a day ago now but once I saw you I have loved you even though you had a boyfriend I just figured I’d wait until you were available and just slowly build a friendship which could possible become more. Yet now I see that the chances of that happening are very slim. If you wish I can take you home now.”

        “No, you planned this to be a date and a date it shall be!” boldly replied Luna as she raised her bottle before adding, “So why don’t we start over seeing as you’re on empty there and this is a mostly new bottle and do this thing right.”

        “But I thought you didn’t want anything more then s*x?” I asked a bit confused.

        “Well yes I have urges that your adventures have given me but also if we’re all going to work together hen we will all need to start getting to know each other more plus it would be nice to actually talk openly to someone other then my brothers.” replied Luna with a sigh, “I’ve had to really watch what I say while out on dates because I don’t want to risk hurting my family or risking the operation. Which is why I mostly only have a few drinks and then have s*x before going our separate ways.”

        “So you’ve never had a boyfriend for a long period of time?” I asked with a concerned look on my face.

        “No more then one or two dates. My brothers always think its because I wont let them sleep with me but in truth its because I’m afraid to get close to anyone who could one day wish to see the inside of the club, my room or even just meet my family or find out what it is that I really do for a living.” confessed Luna as she to a drink from her beer and I could almost see a tear start to form in her eyes.

        “Well I guess it’s a good thing that I already know your family, ave seen the inside of the club and I also know what you really do for a living so all that’s left is for me to see the inside of your bedroom.” I replied hoping to cheer her up not really thinking about what I had said and what it could imply.

        “Well for the sake of my brothers not overreacting we best keep that to just your bedroom for now anyways.” replied Luna after her eyes went wide and had to blink a few times to clear her mind of all the thoughts that had just bombarded it.

        “Umm well, how about we stay out of each other’s bedrooms in that aspect at least until after the third or fourth date?” I suggested nervously.

        “I think I can wait that long but just to mess with my brothers I should stay the night here. That is if you have a spare bed or a place for me to sleep.” replied Luna with a smile.

        “You can sleep in my bed I’ll just use the couch.” I replied with smile.
