Archie, following his uncharacteristic rant, stoically absorbed the news that Reg and his cronies had failed. Those captured had been taken by the police, likely MI5, Archie thought. It crossed his mind that maybe he could use his contacts to delve into that pot and find out more, but he was only too aware they could all be traced back to Bumblin’tons. Despite his intellectual prowess, Archie sometimes could not see what was right in front of him, as is often the way of dastardly d***s. Jack had pointed this out when they had decided a long time ago to plant Watson in Bumblin’tons, before they were aware of any unscrupulous dealings by Pointe-Lace.
