I was a bundle of nerves.
Dame, Cutter and Teddy have been here all morning helping Wolf and me prepare for the BBQ, but freaking out.
Do I have to call Lucy mum now? Do I call Sam Dad?
Was it wrong that I was wishing my mum were here? Even with her lies, I still needed her to ground me and give me that push to go through with this dinner idea.
“Rio?” A knock came to the door of the bedroom that Wolf had now become accustomed to calling our room, and to be honest, I found myself doing the same with a sense of ease and excitement.
‘Our room! It has a nice ring to it!’ the voice in my head agreed.
Despite yesterday's bomb drop, the voice always felt more relaxed and lighter. As if she were carrying a burden, but she can now discuss it.
And discuss it, she does.
