The sunlight stings my eyes.
As a reflex, I raised my arm to shield my face. A groan escapes me as I slowly come to.
I wasn’t lying in bed; for whatever reason, I knew Wolf wasn’t there with me, but I was certain my head was resting on someone's lap.
My other hand reaches out and strokes the lush grass beneath me. I was in the yard.
Everything flashes forward suddenly.

I saw the impossible happen, and I don’t know how to make sense of it. I know what I saw. I shouldn’t. I know that.
