Xavier’s POV
Dad, Marcus, and I stepped back from the deck. The edges were on fire and there was a paper floating in the middle of the pond.
“What the hell?” Dad whispered. I started to take off my shoes and shirt. “Xavier, no this looks dangerous.” He warned me.
“Adrian is right, let’s think this through.” Marcus agreed with dad.
“Don’t worry, all this is magic and it won’t affect me. You both step back from the deck, the fire is spreading from the edges.” I said and dived in the pond avoiding the fired-up edge.
“Careful!” I swam to the middle of the pond and got the envelope. It had the seal of Cressida; as soon as I held envelop, the fire ceased. I pushed back my hair to get a clear look, there is a message inside. I got up on the deck and wiped my hand to open the envelope.
