Chapter Thirty Nine

1042 Words
"Oh my goodness!" It was Kaylie who said that but it could also be applied to me. Because it was indeed shocking that the Crown Prince was under me right now and that our mouths were pressed against each other. What in the world is happening? I did not know that a human's body could just shut down just like what is happening to me right now but it did. I could not move and I could not do anything. I think I could not even breathe. This fleeting moment felt like an eternity already and it's probably because I did like what is happening. And if it weren't for Prince Kao doing the right thing then we would still be on the floor accidentally kissing. But he decided to finally stand up and then he talked to me. "Are you alright, Rainha?" He looked very concerned at me then he looked at our surroundings, probably checking if someone saw what happened. When he was sure that no one saw what happened (other than Kaylie, of course) he spoke to me again. "You are not hurt anywhere, are you?" I nodded nervously because I just freaking kissed him. I just kissed the Crown Prince and I don't know what I should do. "N-No---" He took a deep breath. "Good. For a while, I thought I hurt you. I'm quite heavy, you know, and you fell under me first before I pulled you out of me." If I were a little more stupid than I already was, I guess I would have responded to him that it was okay, that I would have wanted to be under him for a longer time, but I am not that tactless to actually say it so I just looked down. "Oh my God, I'm sorry, Your Highness! I was not looking where I was walking---" "Here we go again," he immediately replied and I have to look at his face to know why he was talking to me like that. "You are calling me that way again. How many times I tell you---?" "We are out in the public," I told him. "I would never risk talking to you casually in case someone might overhear us." "No one is here other than your friend," he replied and the two of us looked at Kaylie who also became shy now that the Crown Prince was paying her attention. "Your name is Kaylie, right?" he asked her and I was actually surprised that he even bothered to know Kaylie. But I guess that is because he wants to know the identity of the person who knows that I am connected to the Crown Prince. "Could you leave the two of us alone for a moment? I just have to talk to her. In fact, if Rainha here did not bump into me I was going to your quarters to talk to her." Kaylie went beet red from the fact that the Crown Prince was directly talking to her. "Of course, Your Highness! I'll leave the two of you!" "Thank you, Kaylie," Prince Kao said and then my friend walked back to our quarters while the two of us remained there standing facing each other. Then Prince Kao suddenly burst into laughter. "Your friend was so nervous, isn't she?" "Who wouldn't?" I said defensively. "And wait, are you making fun of her?" He immediately shook his head. "Of course not, Rainha. I am laughing for a different reason." "And what reason could that be?" "The way you reacted when you fell with me on the floor... it reminded me of a snow tree possum when they play dead to unnerve their predators." I don't exactly know what he was saying but I felt like he was making fun of me, so I frowned at him. "It's not funny, you know." He nodded. "Right. Sorry. I am just in a good mood. I have never been kissed by a girl, you know. This is the first time that it happened so I am a little bit happy." "What?" My mouth was gaping open from what he just said. Did the Crown Prince just admit that I am his first kiss? Oh my God. And why am I so happy with it? "Are you serious?" The Crown Prince nodded. "That kind of information is something that a guy would be lying about, right? I mean, guys usually boast how many girls they have kissed already." I nodded because I know what he meant. "It's just a k-kiss," I said in my defense but deep inside I was already dead, died, dying. "You don't have to make a big deal out of it." "If you say so," he just said but his facial expression was telling me a different story. I'm pretty sure that he was still thinking of that accidental kiss. "Why did you want to see me then?" I finally asked so that we could talk properly now. "Is this because of Kaylie?" "Yes, but not only that." "Then what?" Prince Kao looked again at our surroundings before he told me what he wanted to tell me. "It's about the Forresters. I have decided to bring you there too." "What? But that would be suspicious!" "Not really," he said, and then he went on to explain that he will be picking me as one of the two court servants that he will bring to his trip to Plumba. And guess who did he picked to be his court servants? Me and Kaylie. "I'm sorry, but I can't come with you this time," I said in a melancholic tone because I was indeed sad about it. I would have done everything just to be on that trip with him, but my brother's future is far more important than anything else to me right now. So I told him my reason why I can't go to Plumba with him. But instead of getting discouraged, it made the CRown Prince happier. "No problem then! Plumba is the town before you reach the border where your brother is, so you might as well come with me." He laughed triumphantly after he said that and all I could do was scratch my head.
