Chapter Ninety Four

1673 Words
"Who are you, Rainha?" Jack asked me again while he advanced towards me with his sword in his hands. "Are you just really a daughter of a Snow Gypsy, or are you something else?" I swallowed as he asked me that vital question. But I did not need him to ask me that in the first place. I already had an inkling that I might not be the one who I think I am. The moment that I realized that I can do something that an ordinary human could not do I was having silent goosebumps all over me because I can only think of one thing. Maybe I am just like Nievo and that Queen Hayana of before. Maybe I was a deity born as a human too and now my powers just woke up. But if that is the case, then that also means that I might not be my mother's daughter after all. suddenly, a lot of p[possibilities opened in my mind, and I can only think about one or two of them right now while I am still facing this adversity right in front of me. "You know what you are, don't you?" he added. It was good that he was giving me time before he attacked me, but that only made me more scared as it only means that he needed the information from me that bad. "I think you already know what I meant by what I said. I could see realization dawning in your eyes, Rainha. That means you are already aware that the deities of the old tales really exist, and one of them might be here right now... Maybe even two? Is that why the Crown Prince kept you on his side like you were someone of high status? Is that why he acts like a savior to you? Does he also know about this? Answer me!" He pointed his sword at me and all I could do was close my eyes and flinch. "I... I don't have any idea of what y-you are t-talking about..." "Liar!' I flinched again because the tip of his sword was already in front of me. "I don't think you are being truthful right now. thanks to the Crown Prince, you know a lot of things that ordinary people cannot even fantasize about in their dreams. The two of you have been going around the kingdom to search for this information... At first, I was confused as to why the Crown Prince himself was so immersed with what the two of you were doing. He personally did the dirty work and traveled around to get the information he needed as if his life depended on it when he could order some of his trusted Royal Guards to do this stuff for him... It made me wonder... And now, I think I have found the answer to my curious question, Rainha. Maybe he knew that you were something else... Maybe he had an idea that you were a deity born as a mortal... An Yvestal, as I call it because it reminds me of that mythical creature that can transform itself into any other kind of living creature..." "I think you have the wrong idea..." I finally replied to him. "The Crown Prince has no idea about this thing that is happening to me. He only wanted to talk to my Aunt because he thinks that my Aunt knows the answer to his questions... All we did all this time was to find my Aunt. And now that he knows who took her, we can now get the answers soon!" Jack laughed. "I beat you to it though. Your Aunt is no longer alive." I suddenly went blank when I heard that from him. "W-What did you say?" "Your Aunt is dead!" he shouted at me and my knees suddenly gave in. "No... Aunt Milca... No!" I was looking at the frozen ground while he laughed at what he just revealed to me. So my Aunt was already dead? How can that be? "There is no need to find her, Rainha. She died days ago! And it was such a pain when she finally died from the cold you know, we did not know where to drop her body!" "NOOOOOO!" That was it. That was the last straw. I don't know how I did it, but I was able to 'push' Jack away from me with one fluid motion. It might not be a big deal for other people, but to me, it was because the push was strong enough to make him fly away from a few steps from me. Plus, the sword in his hands flew away somewhere. There was an impact that I could not possibly create with just my own brute force. This was something that a physically strong person could only do, maybe just like the Royal Guards. And Jack knows it too because when he tried to get up he looked at me with such pure disbelief in his face that I could almost see that there was a trace of fear in him as he watched me. "I was right," he said as he tried to calm himself and walk to me again. "You have powers of a deity so tell me, who are you?" "I don't know what you mean, but try and come to me again like that, and I will do it again to you," I said as I showed him my hands. He stared at them too and I can see that he bit the bait that I told him. Now he looks like he was wary of my hands. Maybe just like me, he thinks that I can create shock waves with my touch, strong enough to blast people and other things away from me. He took my warning and now stopped coming closer to me again, but he kept the distance between us close enough to hear every word he was saying. "Now, tell me the truth! Where is my Aunt? What did you do to her? Answer me!" Jack sneered at me. "Why are you accusing me of something that I did not do?" he replied. "I mean, yes, I was the one who took her from your house and my men kept her here, in Mistyland, but we did not hurt her or even put a scratch on her body. Can you believe that? I guess you will not, but I don't kill people for fun, Rainha---" "LIES!" "It's up to you if you will not believe me," he said and I can't tell if he was lying through his teeth or he was being sincere. "But I am telling the truth. Why would I kill an old woman? And I believed what she told me when I asked her those questions. She said that she did not know anything about the Snow Gypsies, so I believed her. All she knew was that your mother was one of them. So I have no reason to kill her Rainha." "Then what happened to her?" I asked and I was only keeping myself under control or else I would have been shouting all over him with the anger and fury that I am feeling for him right now. "What did you do to her?" "She escaped," Jack said. "She ran away from here just what you are trying to do right now with your friends..." Then he gave me a look that I wanted to wipe from his face the moment I saw it on his face. He was giving me a concerned look and I know why he was doing this. He is 'sorry' for whatever happened to my Aunt and I can't forgive him for feeling like that when he was the one who kidnapped her. "Where is my Aunt?" I asked him again, but this time I let him hear the pain and fury in my voice more. "Where did you bring her if she is already dead?" "We buried her in the forest just outside of the theme park," he told me solemnly. "She tried to escape when my men were sleeping, but I guess she did not expect that a snowstorm was brewing just outside the theme park. I think she got trapped and died in the cold. When we found her she was frozen to the bones. My men did know what to do because it was not in our plans to kill her or let her die. We were planning to bring her back to Aurville---" "HOW DARE YOU TO SAY THAT!" I now lost control. This was not already me doing the next things that I did. Something in me woke up that gave me the abilities that only an extraordinary human could have. I moved so fast that I think I was as fast as the wind. It just took me half a second to reach where Jack was standing with this weird power, and then I punched him with all my might. He flew in the air from the impact of that punch alone, and I think I was right. I can create these shock waves strong enough to send people flying. I stared at my knuckle as I took deep breaths, cold tears were flowing down to my cheeks as I processed the fact that my Aunt could no longer go home. She died from the cold, and it was all Jack's fault. And also the King's. I screamed and screamed. I looked up at the sky and screamed my lungs out. I wanted them to pay for what they did to my Aunt. It is all their fault... The fact that they were not planning on killing her but she still died made me more furious than ever. I wanted to kill them all. Suddenly, I wanted to become a deity just like Jack guessed. I wanted to be powerful enough to send them to the ends of the earth and kill them there.
