"Winter, wait!' Cassian called behind me as I stomped through the dying grass back to the cabin. It had taken all of my will power not to slap him across the face. I don't know why I had expected any better of him. These vampires were all the same. They only used people for their own selfish reasons. "Winter," Cassian said again as he grasped my wrist. "Do not touch me!" I screamed as I turned to face him. Without thinking, I put my hand on his chest and pushed backwards. Cassian went flying across the lawn and landed on his back fifty feet away. "Oh my god!" I squealed as I rushed to help him up. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened." I reached my hand out and he took it, grunting as he pulled himself up. "That was... unexpected," he said once he was back on his feet.
