SHIRLEY POV The sun rose up steeply in the morning. Its tender rays escaped through the window and sat on my face. Usually, that was the moment I cuddled myself in Tremblay's arms to shield me from the ray. The invitation of a new day seems to be bothering me. As tradition states, a breeder is meant to live with her mate until she gets pregnant. Her mate can also choose to marry her if he so pleases. I gave a loud yawn and rolled over. I was obstructed by a blockage. Without opening my eyes, I placed my hand upon it and began to detect what it was that stopped me. My hand only touched a part of it. It was soft and appeared long. A ball-like shape at the sides that sunk in when pressed--- I opened my eyes as soon as I remembered what it was. "Tristan!" I yelled his name and took my hands off his groin. He mumbled from his sleep and blinked his eyes open. "What's wrong, Shirley?" He questioned with a faint voice. His eyes were still sleepy. "What are you doing here?" I rant, tugging off the covers from his body. "I wanted to keep you company," he replied, unflurried and ready to go back to bed. "Are you serious now? What if we get caught?" I affront. "Look! I felt bad about how I acted yesterday, okay. I just wanted to make up for that," he spoke calmly. He relaxed his head properly on the pillow and watched the ceiling as he lay. "You're crazy; my husband knows I'm here." "So?" he interjected. "Tristan!" I called his name boldly, and he turned to look at me. "What happened between us yesterday must never happen again; I was drunk," I said to him. "Really? So the intimacy was nothing to you?" He seems to doubt that I'm not in love with him. "It meant nothing to me. You were just the cod I needed to get over pain. He jerked up and mounted upon me, forcing my arms to be still on the bed. He lowered his face towards mine so that only a little space was in between. He grimaced and told me to look into his eyes. I tried to get away from him, but he was too strong. "Let go of me, Tristan," I dragged. "Say it to my face, Shirley. Say that the feeling yesterday meant nothing to you?" He was flustered. "That wasn't love, Tristan; it was just sex." I rolled my eyes. The door opened emergently, revealing a strange-looking woman. Tristan and I stared at her, surprised. "Huh!" She exclaimed, directing her hands to her mouth. "Oh my gosh!" I recalled that she was at the ceremony last night. She must have recognized Tristan and me. It's bad for me, she'll tell my husband. She left the door immediately and ran out. In a swift motion, Tristan released me and ran after her. I got out of the bed and also ran after them. A lot of thoughts ran through my mind at that moment. How do I explain to Tremblay that I had nothing going on with his brother? I unexpectedly paused as Tristan was before. His back was all I could see. His head seems to be bent. "What's wrong?" "Did you find her?" I was curious to know. I walked forward to take a look at him, and that was when I saw the woman lying on the floor. Dead! OMG! What has Tristan done? "Tristan! She's---- He placed his palm on my mouth to prevent me from speaking. He directed my back to lean on the wall. "It was an accident; you don't have to make a big deal out of it. She's probably a maid; we'll just dispose of the body," he suggested while I nodded forward in affirmation, my eyes still affright by who she might be. Tristan let go of me and began dragging the body towards the room. I followed suit and closed the door behind us. "What are you going to do now?" I asked with curiosity. I'll leave her here in the room for now, but when the day is over, I'll come take her out. I'll bury her body," he replied. He was also looking tense; I could tell it was truly a mistake. From the looks of her strained neck, she was strangled by him. "I hope no one saw you?" I suddenly felt the need to ask. He nodded to both sides and dragged the body towards the wardrobe. "Quick, bolt the door!" He yelled as he sensed someone coming. I immediately did as he said and stepped away from the door. I began to hear footsteps. "It's Tremblay," I muttered as I heard his gentle steps. "Oh my gosh! What do we do? You can't go out?" I wailed and rushed to assist him in putting the body in the wardrobe. He entered the wardrobe alongside the deceased and stated he would hide there. The knock on the door came sooner than I expected. I took a brief look at the place to cross-check for any suspicious objects. I heaved a sigh of relief and walked towards the door. He released another knock on the door and called my name this time around. I opened the door afterwards. He was standing there. Eyes fixed on me. "You're up so early." It seemed to be a shock to him. "Uh huh!" I muttered and nodded forward. He took a step forward while I stepped back a little. My heartbeat raced rapidly, wishing he stood at that spot and not come in. "How are you, dear?" He questioned and ran his hands through my cheeks. I tried my best to maintain a steady gaze to avoid looking suspicious. I took his hands from my cheeks and released them. "Are you still mad about yesterday?" he asked. "I'm sure you enjoyed yourself with your breeder yesterday?" I questioned, folded my arms, and frowned at him. "She's---- he suddenly paused and began sniffing the air. His eyes rallied around the room. His gaze tells me he senses something fishy. Could he sense his brother's presence? Or was he picking up the scent of the dead? Tremblay's scent was spectacular. He could detect a particular wolf in the midst of a crowd. As an alpha, his strength and speed were unmatchable. "Is someone here with you, darling?" He said to me while fixing his eyes on the wardrobe. "No—no one is here with me," I stuttered. He walked away from me and began walking towards the wardrobe.
