Paul POV “You have to get out of this office,” Beth nags me from my couch. I don’t want to listen to her s**t right now. My head is pounding and my chest burns. I haven’t had a real meal in weeks and I can’t get the sick feeling to leave my stomach. Noah has shut himself off from me, and I don’t blame him. I want to shut me off from myself too. “Go away,” I muttered, not raising my head from my new desk. I had my dad and Marcus burn the other one, using it as kindling to burn Hamman and Sydney’s bodies. What was left of Sydney anyway. Uncle Lewis was violently ill for days after seeing what became of the boy he raised for 19 years. He knew he had to die, but seeing it was a different thing.
