I stood completely still as my eyes widened. My brain had to take a second to comprehend that there were two disguised men in my daughters room.
However, as soon as one of them put his hands down to reach for Mireya, my eyes turned into slits.
I immediately rushed forward, but the other one was quick to move forward. I didn't understand what he was trying to do until he stabbed a syringe into my neck.
I hissed as my body immediately slowed down. It felt as if my movements of running suddenly turned into slow motion. I cursed at myself for allowing him to even get that close to me.
My eyes snapped back to the man who was trying to pick up Mireya.
However his hands shot back, the black gloves on his hands in flames as it burnt through the material and onto his hands.
