chapter 9

Their eyes met, and the King noticed their eye contact. Masha turned to the king. "Have mercy, your majesty. She did that out of anger.' "I didn't call for your explanation here. Get the f*****g out of my sight." He roared at her. Masha glared at Elsa who pulled her lips in a devilish smile. "Alpha king, remember that Sephora is your mate… you shouldn't be treating her this way because of a mere Elsa." That statement sounded twice to his hearing that it awakened his wolf. It howled at him out of anger. Elsa glanced at him to see his eyes changing, She perceived something strange. "Take her out and tie her up. She will starve and make sure to give her strokes of cane just like the king ordered." Elsa referred to the guards who held Sephora's hand. They dragged her out of the chamber while Masha left with them. Elsa stared at the king to see his head bent low, she didn't bother talking to him.. she left just like others did. * Masha couldn't bear seeing Sephora tied to the pole, so she left before they did that. She was given an uncountable s***h of cane that her skin began bleeding so bad. "Isn't it better to be dead than passing through all this? I think it's better escaping out of this pack other than seeing the devil I call my mate." Sephora muttered within her. "Don't leave, this is our home." Her wolf spoke to her. She shook her head. "Mia, you don't know the pains that I'm passing through here." "We're bearing the pain together, but that shouldn't warrant you to leave this palace for someone else… your leaving will bring regret to you, and Elsa will have more privileges." Mia explained further. She bit her lips. "I've heard you, but time will tell if I'll keep bearing this pain or not. I wonder why mother can't even care to know how I'm faring." Mia didn't say a word again, she hates to see her recalling about her mother. Sephora would be convinced so easily that the woman isn't her mother because of the hell she watches her pass through.. Elsa and the others had been ruthless to her from day one… and certain times she blames herself for coming into the pack. * The sun had set, and alpha Leon sat on his sized chair inside his room. He was contemplating about the news he got from the priest and how to carry out actions. He had ordered Nykon to extend to his beta's of their gathering the next day… and if possible, the Alpha of their neighboring packs should be present too. This is a situation where many heads are needed to bring up ideas that would solve the problem. He took a deep breath and left for his bed. Probably, he hasn't taken a nap for the day, which is unusual for him. "No ideas brought up within you and your beta's can solve this issue. They are witches and demons and not wolves." Roan uttered to him. He hissed. "Let the discussion be for now, I'll discuss with them tomorrow." "The solution is with you but you abandoned it." "And what's that? Besides I'm a primordial, my strength can save my pack." He assured himself. Roan laughed at him. "That strength is in vain, because it can't even save you from talking more about your pack." Leon heaved a big sigh. "Let me be Roan." He licked her lips and laid on the bed. * Sephora was trying her best not to sleep, but nature couldn't let it be that way. She dozed off at last into a deep sleep. After so many hours had elapsed, she felt a hand moving round her body. She let one of her eyes open to see a guard untying her. "What are you doing?" He questioned him but he didn't say a word to her. Sephora watched him untie her completely, and she slumped into his arms. She had known that there wasn't a single strength in her… so she might give up at any time. Her eyes affixed on the guard that couldn't stop staring at her too. "You're risking your life because of me." She uttered. He nodded. "Anything for you. I don't care about the repercussions." Sephora shut her eyes and let it open again, she took a good look at her body to see the bruises she had attributed to the slashes of cane she got from the guards. Her palm touched her skin and she gasped in pain. "My name is Earl." The young guard uttered. She smiled. "I'm sephora.' "Nice name, I'm gonna treat you." He squatted beside her. Sephora watched him as he brought out a wool and soaked it in a liquid that filled in a little container. He began cleaning up the wounds on her skin. She groaned in pain though trying not to let out a loud shout. Earl cleaned up the wounds and applied some mixtures to her skin. She almost screamed out, but he was so fast to hold her lips. "Someone's coming here." Sephora uttered. Earl gripped her to himself while his eyes focused on the direction the image kept coming from. She took a deep breath when she noticed that it's Masha coming to her with a plate of food. "Earl, what are you doing here?" "Ma'am Sephora, I got you something to eat." She turned to her. Sephora adjusted in agony facing her. "Masha… you aren't sleeping." "I couldn't when you're here." She opened the plate of food. Sephora glanced at the food. "I'm feeling pains all over my body.' "Don't worry, I'll feed you myself." Masha picked up the spoon and began feeding her while Earl held her tk himself. She glanced at Earl. "Don't hold her that way, she's the King's mate." "That same mate that rejected me. Come on, Masha, don't mention him in my presence again." "I promise to keep doing that ma'am Sephora." Masha replied. Sephora bit her lips, though she was enjoying the food. She never thought of tasting a thing for three days. A touch flashed to the direction they sat, making their heart flip. "My God! That's Elsa." Earl uttered and sniffed.
