adopts the right attitude for the rest of the evening, and she plays her role
of hostess brilliantly. At no time does she show her dismay, and I’m glad to
see her pretending everything is fine. After all, if Paul doesn’t really care
about her, the sooner she starts to forget him, the better. If, on the other
hand, he’s interested, but for some reason refuses to admit it, he will get
only what he deserves. Perhaps that will set his head straight.
