24 WE MOVED AT quite a high speed but remained at roughly the same distance from the ship as we had been. The pilot fiddled with the controls but from where I sat it didn’t look like he had much success in bringing them back to life. One of the copilots was trying to contact the main fleet on a separate system that still appeared to have power. But after a while he announced, “All the outside links are jammed.” Thayu had linked the outside visual feed to her reader and was watching the structures scroll past, while occasionally tapping the screen.
