I felt a surge of warmth as Matthew's words reverberated throughout the silent room. "Will you become my girlfriend?" I was silent for a while. The weight of something I had not dared to think about until now made my chest tighten, not out of fear. Had I ever truly thought about Matthew this way? Or had our connection been nothing more than a fleeting moment of passion? He stood before me, his piercing gaze locked onto mine, unwavering and full of something that looked dangerously close to love. His confidence, his care—everything about him exuded an intensity that made my heart race. And yet, despite the tenderness in his expression, I felt a tug of uncertainty deep within me. I glanced at the lavish spread of food before us, at the sheer effort he had put into making me feel special.
