Chapter Nineteen

1182 Words

“Miss, I’m speaking to you,” the man beside me said in a playful tone. I blinked, snapping out of my thoughts. “Sorry, I didn’t realize you were talking to me,” I admitted. He gave a cheeky smile. “Who else would I be speaking to? The elevator is empty except for us.” I found myself smiling back. He had a certain charm about him, his confidence effortless. “What’s your name?” he asked. “Mary,” I replied. “And yours?” “Lorenzo,” he said with a slight nod. I studied him for a moment. Lorenzo had an athletic frame and a towering height that made him stand out. His dark hair was stylishly messy, adding to his easygoing attractiveness. But what caught my attention the most were his piercing brown eyes—full of wit and mystery, as if he was carrying a secret behind that ever-present smirk.
