Dominic’s POV I waited for her to answer my question, but instead of speaking, she pushed me away. It wasn’t a violent push, just enough to let me know she wanted this conversation to end. Her eyes, usually filled with warmth, were cold now, distant. “This is my body,” she said firmly, “and I can do whatever I want with it. You don’t understand what this feels like.” Then she turned her back on me. Just like that. “Get some rest, Dominic. Please. While you’re recovering, let me handle things here for now.” And with those words, she walked away, leaving me there with nothing but silence and my spiraling thoughts.
