Dani doesn’t know anything.
By some weird miracle she hasn’t seen or heard anything. I can tell in the way her face lights up when she sees me and the way she hugs me before giving me a loving deep kiss.
I panicked when I saw the car pull up in our driveway and she walked out with Kai, I couldn’t read her face but as I watch her now in the bathroom she seems okay.
“How was your flight?” I nervously ask not sure if she’s pretending or if she’s really clueless.
I need to tell her, the surprise birthday party is tomorrow, and she needs know because everyone there will.
“Long but good,” she shrugs. “Are you okay? You’re pale and your voice sounds weird.”
