Winning is Losing
None, MJ and Shen go through the competing bids in the Oval Office. Renquist took out their first wave of investors. Only a couple days after None’s encounter with Renquist, they have dozens of viable options. They have to vet the bids to see which options are most palatable. They implied it was the highest bidder, but it matters who buys Slam Dunk Jobs.
Agent Vincent says, “Your next appointment is here, Alvin Renquist.”
MJ asks, “He’s here in the White House?”
Agent Vincent nods.
None shares a horrified look with MJ. He looks at Shen. “Did you put him on my schedule?”
Shen throws up his hands in surprise. “I’ll get to the bottom of this.” Shen leaves the Oval Office.
“We’ll hide the details on the investors and see what he wants,” None says.
