Rock Star
Backstage, None spins and fist pumps. “Did you see that?” His jaw gapes open. “Wow! I want to do it again.”
Shen and MJ don’t share his enthusiasm. MJ purses her lips. Shen stands with his arms crossed.
MJ says, “I felt like a second wheel on a unicycle. Next time you want me by your side, don’t expect me to step aside.”
“What happened to me discussing our legal strategy?” Shen asks.
None shrugs. “I got swept away in the moment. It got results.” He smiles at MJ. “Confidence. You were right.”
She doesn’t smile back. “Maybe too confident.”
None feels like a rock star, but the two buzzkills dampen his mood. He looks for a distraction. “Agent Vincent, how’s it going?”
“Mr. President, it’s more difficult to protect you when you don’t stick to the plan.”
