Day In Court
A curved, raised desk extends along the back of the courtroom for the California Supreme Court. Court staff work at the center of the main floor with a podium.
A wooden partition separates a row of seats for attorneys inside from the gallery for spectators. None and MJ occupy seats in the first row of the gallery, near Senator Garfield and his running mate.
Shen leans towards None. “We need to talk,” Shen whispers. “The way you handled that press conference bothers me. It calls into question how you value me, as your lawyer, and your brother.”
None whispers back. “I’m sorry. It was selfish. I won’t do it again.” He hopes his apology is enough.
The seven California Supreme Court justices take their seats on the raised platform. Shen returns to his seat.
