Chapter 16 Groceries

503 Words

Chapter 16 Groceries Utah. Iowa. Ohio. Eleven days of endless campaigning. The Internet yawns. Another day, another supermarket. MJ wears a Catholic schoolgirl outfit with knee high socks and high heels. She stands listlessly with a clipboard next to the entrance. None pounces on shoppers within seconds, like a piranha. He asks a young guy wearing Birkenstock Sandals and socks, “Can you support the protest vote?” “I’m Libertarian. Every vote I make is a protest vote.” The man enters the supermarket. Two sisters in Angel Scout uniforms run to the store entrance, giggling. Their mother sets up a folding table while the sisters hock cookies. A tall man with a lecherous smile struts to MJ. “Can I get the mint cookies?” MJ rolls her eyes. “I’m not an Angel Scout.” “You look so young.”
