MJ says, “What if Renquist knew someone was onto his secret? He didn’t officially own Adaptive Unlimited, so our offices couldn’t be traced to him. He probably went there to avoid snooping.”
Fernando appreciates the irony with a smirk and a chuckle. “Renquist uses your offices to avoid being watched, and you watch him.”
Shen asks, “Fernando, can you bring me up to speed on the security briefing? Maybe it’ll remind MJ what was on those recordings.”
With a nod, Fernando begins his recap. “There’s a shadowy alliance of Russian oligarchs, and military leaders called Kombinat. They use discontent over the bad economy to gain supporters. Once they amass enough power, they’ll topple Russian President Orlov.”
MJ asks, “Renquist is selling weapons to Kombinat?”
“Unlikely.” Fernando can’t help
