Untapped Resources
January twentieth arrives, Inauguration Day. None sports a tuxedo with a Linux penguin bow tie and a top hat with goggles. MJ also wears a tuxedo, the long-tailed jacket tailored to her narrow waist, and black cowboy boots. She tops the outfit with a fedora that has been augmented with clockwork pieces.
None and MJ meet outgoing President Hayfield and his wife for tea. President Hayfield’s sweaty brow betrays his anxiety. This is less a transfer of power, more a salesman unloading a used car with bad brakes and a failing transmission.
President Hayfield accompanies None and MJ to the Capitol without words. When they arrive, None and MJ get out of the limo. President Hayfield closes the door behind them and drives off.
