Vera's POV
The day after Andrew and I kissed, things became awkward for me. I didn't know about him. Normal things that I'd do with him became so strange. I couldn't spar with him at the gym without recalling the kiss—or glancing down at his cupid bow lips. That was more tormenting.
It happened so fast, so suddenly, and briefly. I had always doubted my feelings for him. Every time I was near him, my heart would do nothing but race like the flapping wings of a bird. I had thought my feelings were just a common, normal way to feel towards someone who has been nothing but kind.
But we kissed, and I understood my feelings better.
He apologized for kissing me without permission and also promised that he didn't treat the kiss like I was some w***e. He meant to kiss me wholeheart
