The band of five came to a stop as soon as they had lost their pursuers who, for some reason, had not shown themselves ever since they made their escape hours before.
“Why didn’t they follow us?”
Karin inquired, her confusion matching that of the rest of the Mages. All but Wish who knew his Master well enough to know that his contingency plans were absolute.
“I left them a little surprise while you guys were occupied. Just know that their cars won’t be running for a couple of hours yet. Doesn’t mean we don’t need to put some distance between us so if you have a plan, I suggest you execute it as soon as possible.”
Aaric stated, his statement earning him a wide grin from Karin who couldn’t help but fist bump the Demon Lord. The King was growing to be cooler and cooler in her eyes.
