Why are you back so early?” He walked to the door and unlocked it in a sigh. “I am searching for some papers.’ He dipped his hands in his flowing agbada and brought a bundle of fifty naira notes in their wraps. ‘Here, pick the Volvo and run down to the market and get me a portable briefcase. The Governor has decided to pay me a visit in the afternoon. Please run!” “What of what I will wear to the reception? I need some money.” “What you are holding there is ten grand- so buy the briefcase and make use of the rest of the money.” “All right. What colour, black or ash?” “Any colour will do, just run, and stop asking silly questions!’
