“How much farther do you think it is?” Kajora asked.
“Another mile, maybe,” Jerry said. He led the trio, trudging through the woods towards the construction site. “We should be able to see it through the trees before long.”
“And then we wait.”
“Yeah. Then we wait.” The forest swayed to one side, and he stumbled. He put a hand on a tree trunk to steady himself.
“What's wrong?” Kajora grabbed his arm to support him.
“Nothing.” He blinked several times and stared into the distance. Everything was still. “Just dizzy for a second.”
“Your body has been weakened,” Calael said. He squinted at Jerry's forehead. “You faced the Mentarch in psychic combat. Perhaps you've suffered a hidden wound.”
