After speaking to the detective in charge of my case, I came to the conclusion that they weren’t going to find the perpetrator anytime soon. The idea of Denova getting hurt just because she knew me was terrifying. If the culprit was targeting people close to me, then Denova didn’t need to be anything more than my driver at the moment. I figured she had had enough trauma to last her a life time, if at all what my father said about her was true – I didn’t need to add to it with my problems.
