Chapter 5 : The Shadow of Fate

Serina was asleep and had a dream. In that dream, she was in a jungle and was running in fear from something, and a shadow was chasing her. But suddenly she wakes up from her sleep. She looked very scared and sweat was coming on her face.

On the other side, Nick was sitting with his mother and telling her how Serina explained everything to him in the office and supported him. But just then Kael comes there and says:

“Master Nick, today is the first day of your training, you have to come with me.”

In reply Nick says:

“Kael, I have told you many times not to call me master. But I think it’s your habit. No problem, from today you can call me that. You tell me, where do we have to go for training?”

To this Kael replies:

“Master, today I will show you the Silver Moon Pack’s training ground where your training will be. But first you have to wear your warrior dress that the leader of the Silver Moon Pack wears.”

Then Nick says to his mother:

“I have to go now, today is the first day of my training.”

To this Nick’s mother says:

“Go my son, The Great Irik is with you.”

Then Kael takes Nick with him. First, he takes Nick into a room in which all the warriors’ dresses of the pack are kept. But Kael gives Nick the warrior dress of the Silver Moon Pack’s leader and tells him to wear it.

Actually, the warrior dress is a special suit which the pack’s leader and general wear for training. When Nick comes wearing the warrior dress, then Kael tells him:

“Master, now we have to go towards the training ground.”

Then both of them walk towards the training ground.

On the other side, Serina comes to Nick’s mother and asks:

“Where is Nick?”

To which Nick’s mother replies to Serina:

“Today was Nick’s first day of training so the warriors’ chief Kael took him to the training ground.”

Then Nick’s mother says to Serina:

“Daughter, Nick is very simple, take care of him. I know he will never tell you, but he loves you very much. And I hope you will understand his love.”

In reply Serina says:

“Don’t worry, I know what I have to do.”

But when Nick’s mother looks into Serina’s eyes, she feels something strange. Then she asks Serina:

“Is everything alright, daughter?”

To this Serina says:

“Yes, everything is fine. Now I have to go to the training ground, I have to see how your son is training.”

When Nick reaches the training ground, he was a little surprised because it was the first time he had come there. But Kael’s attention was somewhere else. His eyes were fixed on his mate Lesa, who was training the she-wolves.

When Nick looks at Kael, he realizes that Kael is busy with something else. Then Nick snaps his fingers in front of Kael’s eyes and says:

“Master Kael, we have come here for training.”

Nick doing this brings Kael out of his dream world and Kael says to Nick:

“Yes of course, master.”

But Lesa had already noticed Kael and Nick. She tells her students:

“You all continue your training, I’ll be back.”

Then she walks towards Kael and Nick.

Kael was telling Nick:

“Today I will teach you the first 2 important skills of fighting that are necessary for every fighter wolf to know.”

Just then Lesa comes there and says:

“Master Nick, you here?”

To which Nick replies:

“Yes, today is my first day of training.”

Then Kael says:

“Master, this is my mate, Lesa. I think you didn’t know.”

Nick says:

“Yes, I didn’t know that she was your mate. Nice to meet you, Lesa.”

In reply, Lesa says: “I also felt good meeting you, Master Nick. Did your first day of training go well?”

In reply, Nick says: "Thank you, Lesa."

Then Lesa leaves from there.

After Lesa leaves, Kael tells Nick about the first 2 important skills of wolf fighting:

“Master Nick, the first important skill of wolf fighting is low stance and fast reflexes. This means always fighting by staying low. Place your feet strongly on the ground, just like the roots of a tree are strongly fixed in the ground. Until your feet position is strong, anyone can easily knock you down. You have to strengthen the balance of your feet and always attack from below. The wolf who attacks from below is hard to defeat. Did you understand what I told you, master Nick?”

In reply Nick says:

“Yes of course, plant your feet strongly on the ground and always attack from below.”

After hearing this, Kael says:

“Great! Now let’s move to the next skill. The second skill is very important in wolf fighting. That is to sharpen the senses. This means if during the fight your eyes get closed, still you should be able to know every move and step of your enemy. That is, you have to sense the position of your enemy through his smell and sound.

For every wolf fighter, learning this is necessary. If you learn this, half of your training will be complete.”

Then Kael summons a fighter wolf and orders him to fight with Nick. Then he explains to Nick that whatever I have told you, keep it in your mind and you will fight with him. And you also remember, this is a normal fight — don’t attack too hard, this is only the beginning of training.

Then both of them clash with each other in the battle arena. Nick, from his side, was keeping every word of Kael in mind while facing him, but still, the fighter was overpowering Nick.

Just then Serina arrives there and says to Kael:

“Is this training, or a joke?”

And she stops the fight.

When Nick looked at Serina, he just kept looking. Serina, wearing her warrior dress, was standing in front of him like a fearless warrior. There was such a shine in Serina’s eyes that it was giving peace to Nick’s soul. Nick’s heart almost stopped, and his body felt frozen.

He wanted to tell Serina the feelings of his heart but couldn’t bring them to his tongue. But standing there, he began to dream, where he was holding Serina in his arms, looking into her eyes, and expressing his emotions.

Then Serina herself goes into the battle arena and says:

“Fight me, let’s see what you have learned.”

At this Nick says:

“How can I fight you?”

Hearing this, Serina replies:

“Maybe your master did not tell you this rule. In a fight, there is no one of your own, the one standing against you is only your enemy. If you bring relationships into battle, you can never become a good fighter wolf.”

Then Serina tells Kael:

“Blindfold Nick’s eyes. I want to see whether he can sense the breath, sound, and scent of his enemy or not.”

Then Kael ties a blindfold on Nick’s eyes.

At that moment Serina begins to attack Nick. But she is unaware that her scent already lives in Nick’s breath. Whenever Serina attacks Nick, he defends himself from every strike. Because he could recognize Serina’s body scent from afar.

But Serina begins to get angry because Nick was the first wolf who was easily dodging all her attacks. Serina, from her side, was attacking Nick with full force.

Then, in anger, Serina strikes Nick with her full power, but he escapes it. Yet Serina’s strike was so fast and fierce that she lost her balance and began to fall.

At that moment, Nick catches Serina in his arms and removes the blindfold from his eyes.

When Serina looks into Nick’s eyes, they both completely lose themselves in each other’s gaze, as if time had stopped. Their hearts began to beat faster.

A soft breeze was blowing, making Serina’s hair sway, brushing against Nick’s face.

At that moment, even Serina was feeling in Nick’s arms as if Nick was her first and last love. At that moment it seemed there was no distance between them. Nick too was feeling a strange emotion in his heart that he had never felt before.

They were so lost in each other’s eyes that they seemed unaware of the world around them. They came so close to each other that they were about to kiss, but just then, Rommel’s memory came before Serina’s eyes, which brought her back to her senses.

She pushes Nick away from herself and punches him so hard on his face that he falls to the ground. And Serina says to him:

“Don’t forget your limits.”

And Serina walks away in anger.

But Nick had seen in Serina’s eyes today a shine he had never seen before — a shine as if Serina had, for the first time, felt his love.

Seeing this, Kael comes to Nick and says:

“Are you okay?”

Nick replies:

“Yes, I’m fine. Madam just hit me with love. It felt as if someone threw a flower on my face instead of a punch.”

Then both of them start laughing.

On one side, in the Silver Moon pack, the training was going on, but on the other side, in the Bloody Moon pack, Rowan and Derek were going to Somira the Dream Keeper to achieve their goal.

On the way, Derek asks Rowan:

“Father, who exactly is this Somira? And why are we going to her?”

In response, Rowan says:

“Somira was a wolf witch who could see anyone’s dreams with her magic, and if she wanted, she could show her chosen dream to anyone.

But she was the owner of a pure heart. And you know, the people with pure hearts, this world never lets them live.

Then Derek asks Rowan:

“So what happened with Somira?”

In reply, Rowan says: Somira met an alpha wolf, Alaric Lucian, and they both fell in love.

But Alaric Lucian’s pack members did not accept the relationship between Somira and Alaric. But Alaric Lucian chose Somira as his mate, because of which Alaric Lucian was expelled from his pack. Both of them started living separately.

But Alaric Lucian’s father, who was the leader of the pack, attacked their house and burned it down. At that time, inside the house were only Alaric Lucian and his 3-month-old daughter. Both of them died in that attack.

When Somira came to know about this, she used her powers to show strange dreams to all the pack members of Alaric Lucian and drove them mad until they all died.”

After hearing all this, Derek says:

“But why would she help us?”

Rowan replies:

“Because it was I who raised Somira. Somira is the daughter of a wolf witch of our own pack. But she used to live separately from us.

But before her death, she gave Somira’s responsibility to me. And now Somira does not consider this world worthy of love. But my case is different. Because I raised her, I am like her father. And she will definitely help me.”

On the other side, in the Blackwood residence, Serina was standing at the window of her room, looking down at Nick who was talking with Kael.

And in her mind, she was thinking why she was getting so close to Nick? After all, what is there in Nick that pulls Serina toward him? All these questions were running in her mind and she wanted to know their answers.
