Chapter 7 : A Mate She Never Wanted

Nick and Serina had come out of the meeting room and both were sitting in Serina’s office room. Serina said to Nick:
“You handled everything very well today. I am seeing that you are learning everything very fast.”
After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:
“Madam, if the trainer is like you, then who would be a fool to not want to learn?”
After hearing Nick’s words, Serina said:
“What do you mean by this? After all, what are you trying to say?”
After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:
“Madam, I have been wanting to tell you something for many days, but I was not getting the courage. But today I want to say that to you.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Serina said:
“Why are you not coming straight to the point? Why are you talking here and there? Whatever you want to say, say it clearly.”
After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:
“Yes Madam, I will try. Madam, I never thought that I would get married to you. It always felt like just a dream to me. But this dream of mine will come true. I just wanted to say this to you. I still love you.”
Nick had said only this much. Serina got very angry, stood up from her chair, and, looking at Nick with anger, said:
“Now you will not say even one more word after this. Did you understand what I said? I never thought that I, an Alpha she-wolf, the daughter of Darius Rucker, the owner of Blackwood Group of Industry, would ever choose an Omega as my mate.
And that too a useless Omega like you. Look, I married you only because I had to fulfill my father’s dream and take revenge for his blood. I have to bring my father’s killers to their final end. But now it is my compulsion that I have to spend my whole life with you.
But let me make one thing clear to you, never expect love from my side. One should not see those dreams which can never come true.”
After hearing Serina’s words, Nick became completely hopeless and tears started coming out of his eyes. Nick felt as if his whole dream had broken, the dream he had been seeing after marrying Serina. He was thinking that now Serina would understand his love and accept him from her heart.
Nick looked at Serina with eyes full of hopelessness and said:
“Madam, today you have done me a very big favor. By making me understand this, that I can never make a place in your heart, and I will remember this until the day I die.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Serina said:
“This is a very good thing. You understood my words, for that thank you. Now we will never talk about this topic again.”
After saying this, Serina started to leave from there, but her heel slipped and she was about to fall.
But Nick quickly got up and caught Serina in his arms.
When Nick held Serina in his arms, he felt as if he had won the whole world. Nick was looking only into Serina’s eyes, and Serina was also able to feel the heartbeat of Nick’s heart.
But then there was a knock on Serina’s office room door, because of which Serina pushed Nick away from herself and said:
“Yes, come in.”
When Serina’s office room door opened, Kael was there. Kael said to Serina:
“Madam, I had an important matter to discuss with you.”
Then Serina gestured with her finger to Nick to go outside. Nick understood the meaning of Serina’s gesture and left from there.
After Nick left, Serina asked Kael:
“Tell me, which important matter is it that you want to discuss with me?”
After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:
“Madam, I had told you that Rommel made his last call to you from Ravenwood Lane Road. I searched a lot and found out that Ravenwood Lane Road leads toward Midnight Forest.”
After hearing Kael’s words, Serina became surprised and said:
“Midnight Forest? In Midnight Forest, that wolf is called who has betrayed his leader or has committed some big and serious crime. But if someone has to be made to accept his crime, then this process happens in front of all the pack leaders.
But who is it who called my father there, who was the leader of the Western Wolf Community, and that too called him alone into Midnight Forest? How is this possible?”
After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:
“Yes madam, exactly. This also felt a little suspicious to me, but I have already sent Silver Moon Pack’s best trackers into Midnight Forest.
And along with them, I have also sent those wolves who are very familiar with Midnight Forest. Along with that, I have given this order too that until they find some proof, they must not return.”
After hearing Kael’s words, Serina said:
“Very good, you have done very good work. But give one more order to all of them.
If they see any member of another pack in Midnight Forest or any suspicious person, then arrest him too and interrogate him properly regarding why he was wandering there and what his purpose was.
I definitely want to go to Midnight Forest, but if we go there right now then it will be too late. I think we should go there tomorrow morning so that we can properly inspect Midnight Forest.”
After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:
“Of course madam, whatever you want, it will happen exactly like that. Do I have permission to leave now?”
After hearing Kael’s words, Serina said:
“Yes, you have permission.”
Then Kael left from there. After Kael left, Serina sat back in her chair again and started doing her office work.
On the other side, Nick was also sitting in his office room and he was looking very sad, and his mind was repeatedly echoing the same words that Serina had said to him.
Just then, there was a knock on Nick’s office room door. Nick said:
“Who is it? Come inside.”
When Nick said that, Kael opened the door and entered the room and said to Nick:
“Master Nick, may I sit?”
After hearing Kael’s words, Nick said:
“Yes, of course, sit.”
When Kael sat on the chair, Nick asked,
“Tell me, Worrier Chief of Pack, do you have something to discuss with me?”
After hearing Nick’s words, Kael said:
“Of course, Master Nick. I have something very important to discuss with you. I have been noticing for quite some days that Madam Serina is not giving you importance, but in your eyes, love for Madam Serina is clearly visible. That’s why I want to give you some advice.”
After hearing Kael’s words, Nick said:
“Tell me, I am listening.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Kael said:
“Master, I want to tell you my love story. I also loved Lesa very much, but her attitude toward me was exactly the same as Madam Serina’s attitude toward you.
But I did not lose courage, and in the end, I won Lesa's heart, and she did realize my love. That’s why I want to give you the same advice—that you should not lose courage and keep trying from your side, because whatever happens, Madam Serina has to live her whole life with you now. After hearing Kael’s words, Nick smiled and said:
“If you say so, then I will definitely try. But you have to explain to me how I should impress Madam Serina, and the second thing, you will have to give me such fighting training that no wolf will be able to defeat me.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Kael said:
“Of course, Master, don't worry at all, whatever you want, it will happen exactly like that. Now give me permission, I have some other important work to finish.”
After hearing Kael’s words, Nick said:
“Alright, you may go.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Kael left from there.
It was night, Serina was sitting in her office room doing her work, when suddenly her eyes closed and she saw a dream that some wolf witch was sitting in one place and doing some magic, but Serina was not able to see her face.
Then suddenly there was a knock on Serina’s office room door, because of which Serina’s eyes opened. Serina said:
“Yes, come in.”
After getting Serina’s permission, Nick opened the door and entered and said to Serina:
“Madam, it is already very late, now we should go back home.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Serina said:
“Maybe you are right.”
Then both of them came back from Blackwood Group of Industry to Blackwood Residence. It was very late at night, Serina and Nick were both very tired, so both of them went to sleep.
But when Serina was sleeping, she again had the same frightening dream. But this time in her dream Serina saw the face of that wolf witch. She was no one else but Nick’s mother, and Serina was asking her:
“Why are you doing this to me? Why do you want to kill me? What have I done to you?”
But on the other side, Nick also had a dream, in which he saw Serina who was trying to kill Nick’s mother. But Nick was shouting loudly in his dream:
“Serina, don’t do this! Don’t do this!”
But Serina was not stopping. In this way, Nick, saying these words, woke up from his sleep, and then he realized that it was just a dream.
But when he looked toward Serina, Serina was also repeating some words in her sleep. Nick quickly got up and came near Serina and woke her up.
When Serina saw Nick, Nick had his mother’s locket in his hand, which Nick’s mother told Serina to wear. Serina took the locket from Nick’s hand, broke it, and threw it away.
When Nick saw Serina doing this, Nick said to Serina:
“Madam, what have you done? My mother said Serina should wear this locket even while sleeping at night, then she will not see frightening dreams.”
After hearing Nick’s words, Serina said:
“I understood your mother. Your mother, Elina Harper, who is a wolf witch, that is why she was ordered to stay away from the pack. But I allowed her to come back here because you requested it. And now both of you want to kill me. Your mother will not stay here at all, she will have to go back.”
