Chapter 9 : Love Amid Nightmares

It was nighttime. Serina and Nick were both sleeping in their rooms. Suddenly, Serina had a very terrifying and dreadful nightmare. In the dream, Serina was present in a place where all around her there was lava and fire.

Then Serina saw Nick all around her, who was laughing while looking at her in a strange way; his laughter was of a very frightening kind. When Serina looked toward her hands, she felt a strange sensation, as if some unseen power was taking control of her body.

Just then, Serina saw a frightening kind of shadow near her, which gradually turned into Nick. Seeing this scene, Serina became very scared and tried to run away, but her feet had frozen in one place. Suddenly, Serina’s breathing stopped; it was becoming difficult for her to breathe.

On the other side, Nick also had a similar terrifying dream. In the dream, Nick saw that Serina, holding a knife in her hand, was chasing Nick’s mother to kill her.

But Nick wanted to stop Serina from doing this, yet he could not—Nick’s voice was not coming out, and he was also unable to move forward, as if some unseen power had taken control of his body.

Suddenly, Nick reached another place, where he saw that there was only darkness everywhere. But then suddenly Serina appeared in front of him, whose face was covered in blood, and she looked very terrifying and was laughing loudly.

Nick started screaming loudly:

“Stop! Don’t laugh like this!” and he placed his hands over his ears.

Then Serina and Nick both became so frightened that they woke up from their sleep and started looking at each other with terrified eyes.

After that, Nick and Serina did not have the courage to sleep. After some time, Nick came near Serina and held her hand. Serina told Nick to leave her hand, but Nick did not do so. He sat down on his knees in front of Serina and, kissing her hand, said:

“Madam, I assure you that I have no involvement behind all this, nor has my mother done any magic on you. You must trust me. You are the only girl in the world whom I have loved. My heart beats only for you. I can never do anything like this to you.”

When Nick was saying all this to Serina, love was clearly visible in his eyes. Serina also got lost in Nick’s eyes. Every word of Nick felt true to her.

Then Nick placed his head in Serina’s lap and said to her:

“I have heard that there is great power in love, so I am sure that my love will never let the two of us drift apart.

The condition you are in right now is the same as mine. I am also having the same terrifying dreams that you are having. My madam, please trust me.”

Just then, Serina began to realize that Nick was speaking the truth. Serina, running her hand through Nick’s hair, said:

“How do I always find myself drawn to you? Why do I begin to believe your words? I don’t understand what this feeling is.”

In this way, Nick slept the whole night with his head in Serina’s lap, and Serina also fell asleep.

On the other side, Nick’s mother, using her power, was finding out who was doing whatever was happening with Nick and Serina. After performing magic for a long time, Nick’s mother found out that this magic belonged to Somira, who is a wolf witch.

After knowing this, Nick’s mother became very worried, because Somira’s magic was many times more powerful than her magic, and now her magic was at its final stage. This meant Nick and Serina’s lives are in danger.

Nick’s mother thought for a long time about how to find a solution to Somira’s magic. After much thinking, she reached the conclusion that somehow she needed to talk to Somira to find out why she was doing this and what kind of enmity she had with Nick and Serina. Who knows, by talking, some solution to this problem might come out.

On the other side, Somira also began to sense through her magical powers that someone had found out about her and was trying to break her magic.

It was morning. Serina and Nick were getting ready to go to Blackwood Groups of Industry. After some time, both of them got ready and came downstairs. But before going to Blackwood Groups of Industry, Serina called Kael to meet her alone.

When Kael reached Serina, he said to her:

“Madam, you called for me?”

After hearing Kael’s words, Serina said:

“Serina, sometimes I really feel pity for your condition. You are wasting your precious time on this useless Nick. There is no benefit in staying with him. Even now you have a chance—you can leave this Nick and come to me.”

Before Serina could say anything to Derek, Nick stepped forward and punched Derek hard on the face. There was so much power in Nick’s punch that Derek fell to the ground right there. Nick went near Derek and said:

After saying this to Derek, Nick said to Serina:

“Let’s go, madam. We are getting late.”

After seeing this scene, Serina was quite shocked. She was still looking at Derek lying on the ground. Then Nick came near Serina and said again:

“Madam, we should leave now.”

After hearing Derek’s words, Nick said:

After saying this, Nick said to Serina:

“Madam, let’s go.”

Then both of them left from there.

When Serina and Nick reached their office room, Serina became very angry with Nick and said:

“Have you gone mad, what was all that you did outside? Is all that a normal thing for you? Why did you accept Derek’s challenge after all? Do you have even the slightest idea what the consequence will be if you lose to Derek?”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick came close to her and tightly held Serina by her waist, pulling her towards himself, and while looking into Serina’s eyes he said:

“Madam, I cannot tolerate anyone talking to you like this.

It is necessary to show Derek his place. You will have to trust me. I will defeat Derek in the fight and prove that your decision to choose me as your mate was absolutely right. After that, no one will ever dare to trouble you again.”

While Nick was saying all this to Serina, Serina was also feeling safe in Nick’s arms and was not trying to free herself. It felt as if Serina had handed herself over to Nick. Nick too was lost in Serina’s eyes. He felt as if the whole world had stopped for him and he was just standing there, holding Serina in his arms.

Then Nick gently moved his hand over Serina’s face and said:

“Your face is the most beautiful face in the world, and your eyes are so beautiful that hardly anyone in this world has eyes like yours. Whoever looks into your eyes gets lost in them.

Your eyes make anyone fall in love with you. Among those lovers, I am also one of your lovers. Please value my love. You will not find anyone in the whole world who loves you the way I do.”

Serina slightly moved away from Nick and said:

“Nick, you cannot understand how difficult it is for me to forget Rommel.”

and then he left from there.
