Chapter 11 : Rise of the true wolf

It was 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Everyone at the Blackwood residence was busy with preparations because today was Nick and Derek’s fight. Everyone was eager to go to the Western Wolf Community’s battle arena. Nick had also completed all his preparations.

Just then, Serina came to Nick and said to him:

“Are you sure that you will defeat Derek today?”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:

“Madam, if I ask you the same question, are you sure that I will defeat Derek today?”

After hearing Nick’s words, Serina came closer to Nick and said:

“Look, Nick, I am not sure that you will win, but I don’t know why my heart is telling me that you will definitely win.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick came even closer to Serina and, holding both of Serina’s hands in his own, said with a smile:

“If your heart says that I will win, then I am sure that I will defeat Derek.”

Then Nick tried to kiss Serina, but Serina pulled her hand away, stepped back, and said:

“I think we should leave now.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:

“Yes madam, we should leave.”

Then both of them went downstairs together, where Kael was already waiting for them. But when Kael saw Nick, he was quite surprised. Anxiously, Kael asked Nick:

“Master Nick, your wound is healing very quickly.”

After hearing Kael’s words, Nick said:

“Yes, absolutely. I know, because I have been like this since childhood; my wounds heal quickly.”

After saying this, Nick left from there. But when Serina saw that Kael was lost in thought, she said to him:

“Kael, are you alright?”

After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:

“Yes madam, I am fine. But did you see how quickly Master Nick’s wound is healing? You know, last night there was a long fight between Master Nick and me, But my wound did not heal so quickly. And you know that I am an Alpha Wolf, and Master Nick is an Omega.”

“Then how is his wound healing so fast?”

After hearing Kael’s words, Serina said:

“You are absolutely right, Kael. Now I am even forced to think about how this is possible.

And besides that, there has been a big change in Nick’s personality as well. The Nick I knew before is not this Nick at all.”

“But we will think about this later, because today you have a very important task to do. Because if we succeed in getting the truth out of the Bloody Moon Pack’s Warrior Chief, then even if Nick loses the fight, we can take back the leadership of the Western Wolf Community.”

“You just need to keep your full focus on your task.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:

“Yes madam, you are absolutely right.”

On the other side, Derek and Rowan had also set off toward the Western Wolf Community’s battle arena. On the way, Rowan said to Derek:

“I didn’t like this decision of yours, but if you win, then we will easily gain the leadership of the Western Wolf Community.”

“After hearing Rowan’s words, Derek said:

‘Father, I will definitely win. An Omega wolf like Nick, I will defeat him with just one punch—just watch what I do tonight. If I defeat Nick, then Serina herself will come to my feet.’”

After hearing Derek’s words, Rowan said:

“It seems, Derek, that you have forgotten the very first rule of fighting that I taught you.

You should never consider your opponent weak, and I don’t think that Omega Nick will be defeated by you so easily. If there is any difficulty in the fight, then keep Plan B ready.”

After hearing Rowan’s words, Derek said:

“Father, don’t take any tension at all. For this fight, I have even prepared Plan C.”

After a long time, Rowan and Derek reached the Western Wolf Community’s battle arena. Shortly after they arrived there, Serina and Nick also reached the arena. As soon as Serina and Nick arrived, everyone took their seats.

Then the Western Wolf Community’s Councillor, Theron Eldric, stood on a high platform and said:

“Today we are all gathered here because Nick Harper, leader of the Silver Moon Pack, has accepted the fight challenge of Derek, the son of the Blood Moon Pack’s Alpha leader.

This fight will decide the future of the Western Wolf Community. When the half moon appears clearly in the sky, this fight will begin.”

After saying this, he came down from the platform and sat in his place.

On the other side, Kael was giving Nick some fighting tips, but Serina came there and said to Kael:

“I am present here with Nick. I think you should focus on your work.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Kael said:

“Madam, please don’t worry. We are just waiting for the right moment. Doing anything right now could put us in trouble.”

After hearing Kael’s words, Serina said to him:

“Then that’s fine. You stay here, and when you get the opportunity, start your work.”

Then Serina said to Nick:

“Now don’t ask what we are talking about. Just listen to me carefully. Derek is a very clever wolf. He can even cheat during the fight. I don’t trust him even a little, so during the fight make sure that he cannot cheat in any way.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick said:

“If I have your support with me, then even if Derek cheats, he still won’t be able to defeat me.”

After saying this, Nick came closer to Serina, held her face in his hands, and kissed her on the forehead. But when Serina saw that Derek was watching both of them, Serina tightly held Nick by the head and kissed him on the lips. Nick also got carried away, and both of them kissed each other for some time.

Seeing this, Derek became very angry. After a short while, the half moon became clearly visible in the sky. Then both Nick and Derek entered the fighting ring.

The referee then explained the fight rules to both of them: the fight would last for 12 rounds, each round would be 5 minutes long. The fighter who remained standing in the ring till the end of 12 rounds would be the winner of this fight.

Then the referee blew the whistle and told both of them to start the fight.

As soon as the fight started, Nick and Derek moved toward each other. Derek quickly rained punches on Nick, but Nick was also trying his best to dodge Derek’s punches.

However, because Derek’s speed was higher, Nick was having a lot of difficulty and was not getting a chance to attack Derek.

When the first round ended, Derek’s condition was much better than Nick’s because Nick had taken more damage.

During the break of the first round, Serina came to Nick, held his hand, and said:

“You can defeat Derek. You gave a very good performance in the first round.”

After hearing Serina’s words, Nick felt very encouraged, and he moved forward to fight Derek in the second round. In the second round, when Derek moved toward Nick, Nick bent down, lifted Derek onto his shoulder, and slammed him down.

He then landed a powerful punch on Derek’s face and attacked Derek’s neck with his claw, which was very painful for Derek. Derek also counterattacked and struck Nick’s face with his claw, pushing Nick off himself.

In this way, the fifth round of the fight ended. When the sixth round was about to start, Rowan called his pack’s Warrior Chief, Karl Paul, to himself and whispered something in his ear. After hearing Rowan’s words, Karl Paul left from there.

When Kael saw Karl leaving, he started following him. When he followed Karl, Karl was taking something out of Rowan’s car. Kael looked around in all four directions, but he didn’t see anyone. When Kael was sure that no one was around, he signaled all his companions.

As soon as Kael gave the signal, all of them surrounded Karl from all sides. When Karl saw himself in trouble, he started fighting them, but Kael came from behind and hit Karl on the head with a heavy object, because of which Karl became unconscious. Then Kael tied him up and handed him over to his companions, saying:

“Now you all know where to take him.”

After hearing Kael’s words, his companions said:

“Absolutely, we know. Don’t worry, we will handle everything from here.”

After hearing his companions’ words, Kael said:

“Very good. Then hurry up and get out of here, I have to go back right now.”

After saying this, Kael left from there.

On the other side, eight rounds of the fight had already passed. The condition of both Nick and Derek had become very bad. The ninth round was just about to start when Kael came to Serina and whispered in her ear:

“Madam, the work is done.”

After hearing Kael’s words, a smile appeared on Serina’s face. Just then, the ninth round of the fight started. Nick and Derek were trying to attack each other in every possible way, and at the same time trying to defend themselves from each other’s attacks.

Suddenly, Derek struck a sharp object into Nick’s stomach, because of which a lot of blood came out of Nick. Then Derek started punching Nick repeatedly at the same spot.

Just then, the ninth round ended. When Serina and Kael came to Nick, Nick said:

“Derek hit something into my stomach, because of which I started feeling very weak, and a lot of blood has come out.”

Just then, the referee blew the whistle to start round 10. When round 10 started, Nick had now completely understood Derek’s every move.

He showed himself as weak as possible in front of Derek. Now Derek thought that Nick would accept defeat, but he did not know what Nick was about to do to him.

When Derek came close to Nick to attack him, Nick saved himself from Derek’s attack. Seeing this, Derek became very shocked and started attacking Nick even faster, but Nick was saving himself very quickly from Derek’s every attack.

Derek kept attacking Nick continuously until he got tired, then Nick laughed and said to Derek:

“Was that all the strength you had? Could you only attack me with this much speed?”

After hearing Nick’s words, Derek became angry and attacked Nick again. Finally, one of Derek’s punches landed on Nick’s face.

Seeing this, Derek became very happy. But once again, Nick smiled and looked at Derek and said:

“Do you only have this much strength left?”

Seeing this, Derek became even angrier and tried to punch Nick, but Nick stopped Derek’s punch by holding his hand and with his other hand rained punches on Derek’s face.

Then Nick lifted Derek and slammed him hard into the ring and bent his arm. Just then, round ten ended. When round eleven was about to start, Derek realized that Nick would not give up, so Derek applied Moonblind Gaslin on his hands.

When round eleven started, Derek ran quickly toward Nick. When he came close to Nick, Nick tried to punch him, But Derek ducked and went behind Nick, and with a swift move applied his Moonblind Gaslin-covered hand on Nick’s eyes, because of which Nick stopped seeing.

Nick’s eyes were closed for a short while. Then Derek started hitting Nick, because of which Nick fell down. When Nick fell, Derek became very happy and said to Nick, “Get up, Nick, if you still have even a little strength left!”

Then Nick got up again and remembered his first fight skill, which Kael had taught him: sharpening the senses. Then Nick, with a gesture of his hand, called Derek towards him. Seeing this, Derek became angry and started moving towards him, but Nick was estimating his position by his voice.

When Derek came close to Nick, Nick bent down, lifted Derek, and slammed him hard into the ring, then struck a powerful attack on Derek’s neck with his claws.

Nick was just about to bite Derek’s neck when Serina called out to Nick and stopped him. Now Derek no longer had the strength to fight. The referee counted till ten, but Derek could not stand up again.

Because of this, the referee declared Nick the winner. As soon as the referee declared Nick the winner, Kael came into the ring and happily lifted Nick onto his shoulders.
