CHAPTER 11 A win for Darius Damon's POV I stormed into my dorm. Asher was sitting but jumped to his feet the moment I entered. “Alpha…” he stammered. “I have questions, Asher. Your stupid excuses don’t settle me.” “It’s okay, Alpha. I’ll answer anything,” he said, hands trembling. “You better answer unless you want your apology to come with bruises.” I stepped closer, hands in my pockets. “Why is the CCTV footage missing? You said you had it.” “I… I don’t know, Alpha. I just couldn’t find it where I left it,” he stammered. I grabbed him by the throat, lifting him slightly. “I said now, Asher.” “You know better than to play with me. What happened that night during the mate bonding season? Give me a f*****g answer before I rip your guts out.” Asher whimpered like a lone, abandoned wolf but stayed silent, trembling. The door slammed open. I dropped Asher and turned. My disgusting twin, Darius, stood there. His eyes burned with rage, flashing deep into mine. “You buried your respect in that girl’s p***y so deep you no longer knock before entering?” I spat. He stepped closer, fangs glinting, ready to devour me. “Yes, I buried it deep when it was wet and slippery. I do not owe you respect in case you forgot who you are speaking to.” I scoffed, letting out a wry laugh. “What are you doing here? I don’t like having you in my space.” “I came to warn you properly. Asher, you may leave.” He advanced, his eyes burning red. “Go ahead and speak your alpha is listening,” “You keep acting like you bear the title alone,” “Say it. Say what you came to say. Tell me you never want to see me with her. You stormed into my room over a girl?” I snapped. “She isn’t just a girl. She’s my mate. With her, I have a future,” Darius growled, chest heaving, eyes burning red. “She is not just yours, Darius.” “You wish she were yours too,” he hissed, stepping closer. “Wish?” I laughed, bitter and sharp. “I have nothing to say to you. Get out of my space. You have a shared p***y waiting for you. Go enjoy it.” He raised his fist like he wanted to tear me apart. I caught it. “Keep it down,” I said, pushing his hand back, my eyes locked on his. “I have no interest in her,” he spat, rage rattling his voice. “But now that you make it seem like I don’t own my share, I want her. Zima under my skin. And I will get her. Like I always do.” His chest heaved and his claws flexed. Every inch of him screamed danger. He was on the edge of losing control. “Don’t come near her, Damon. I warned you. The moon bears me witness, I warned you,” he spat, his teeth bared. “You will regret warning me,” I said, voice low, slicing through the tension. “You will regret barging in here over some girl. Just like last time, I will leave her in your mind. You will never forget her.” The air between us crackled. Every breath, every glare, and every movement was a battle waiting to explode. In a heartbeat, Darius slammed me into the wall. His claws were out. His fists rained on my face, punching without mercy. I didn’t fight back. I let him feel like a warrior. He stepped back, stretching, bones cracking with each move. “Are you done?” I taunted. “I’ve seen her boneless, ugly boobs. Your fists look the same.” “You shouldn’t have said that,” he growled, walking away. I stood, wiping my face. Nothing felt better than taunting Darius. I headed to the bathroom to wash the blood from my face, splashing cold water on my skin. The danger alarm of the academy blared suddenly, piercing the air. Something was coming. *** I walked briskly through the corridor, but it was empty. No students in sight. My heart raced as I jogged to the emergency room and burst in. The room was packed…students, the academy board, and my father, the King Alpha. Every eye was on me. I scanned the room. Zima stood in the corner, her glare hard. Darius leaned back with a smug smile. “The lost CCTV footage has been found,” Rex announced, standing. “We will play the video for everyone, along with the audio submitted by Alpha Darius.” I looked at the projector, my chest tightening. I needed to see who had killed Sophie. The video played. Asher appeared, strangling Sophie in her room, on her bed. Gasps erupted through the room. I had told him to forget that mission. Why had he done it anyway? I searched the crowd for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. “Everyone knows Asher is Damon’s beta,” Rex continued. “Yes!” the crowd echoed. I stole a glance at Zima. She just stared at me, her eyes burning. “Now the question is, why would Alpha Damon ask his beta to do this?” “I never did,” I said, my voice sharp. “Play the audio,” Darius said, a wry smile on his face, enjoying the chaos. The audio played. It was me, ordering Asher to pin the murder on Zima. The room erupted. My father growled from his seat, fury radiating off him. “I am disappointed, Damon,” Rex started, his voice heavy. “This is not the conduct of an alpha. You can’t pin murder on someone just because you don’t like them. You won’t be fit to be an Alpha King in the future if you keep acting like this.” I stayed calm, saying nothing. “Why is Asher missing?” I asked, glancing at Darius. “Maybe you killed him too, who knows?” Darius said, stepping closer, a dangerous smile on his face. “I bet you didn’t see this coming. I played you fast, and I like that,” he continued, eyes burning. “You are not ready for this fight, Darius. You are not,” I said, voice steady but sharp. “I am ready for everything. And there is more to come. Stay tuned,” he said, smug and fearless. Zima walked closer, holding Darius’s hand, her eyes locked on mine. “You talk too big for someone about to look small,” she said, and with a quick flick, she flung her hair across my face. They walked away. Darius had won this round, but this wasn’t over. “To my office, now!” my father bellowed, his voice shaking the air.
