Everett was still lost in her thoughts when the maids asked her to clean up before having lunch with the King.
She looked up, the maids understood they had to leave her chambers so she could have her shower.
She managed to get up, looked at herself in the mirror and discovered that the mark was no more.
She was surprised and happy at the same time.
She became sad again on realizing that she was going to have lunch with Amarok.
Who knows what he is up to this time? She questioned herself. This may be the case of removing one and adding more.
But she couldn't keep the King waiting, so she dashed into the washroom and cleaned up.
The maids were already waiting to dress and adorn her.
Is this necessary at all? She whispered to herself. Who knows if it will be her last day. She quickly imagined her with Amarok alone at the dinning.
Amarok was patiently waiting for her at the dining table. At the sight of Everett, his face lit up and he stood up to welcome her.
The maids were in shock, unlike him, Amarok is not romantic at all. They stared at each other with surprise in their eyes.
On realizing this, he commanded the maids out of the dining room.
Amarok dished the food for Everett in line with what she wanted to eat and did the same for himself.
As they had their meals, he couldn't take his gaze off her. Everett couldn't stand his gaze either, so she concentrated on the food and never looked at him.
He's all over me, maybe he is imagining how he will devour me without pity.
She is so beautiful, just that she was never treated the right way as a princess, but I will take very good care of her and give her the life she deserves. I wish she could love me too.
Do you want more? Amarok managed to ask Everett. She nodded reluctantly, even though she was already filled.
He stretched out his hand to dish more food for her when Everett held his hand unconsciously.
He was very surprised and happy that Everett could touch him and seeing her hand holding his hand is the best feeling ever. His eyes caught up with hers. She couldn't remove her gaze. Their eyes locked.
“I am filled”, Everett stammered at last and stood up to leave the table.
Amarok held her back. Can we have a drink together later this evening?
Everett could hear his heartbeat from where she was standing. What is going on with Amarok? She hesitantly nodded in agreement.
Everett was restless, “King Amarok is so unpredictable. What is he up to? A drink? what for? Maybe it's my last supper.
It could be my last day today.
Anyways, let me enjoy it while it last. Everett has never felt this way, no one has treated her this way all her life.
She was still thinking about all that had happened that day when she slept off.
“Come on my princess” King Amarok beckoned on Everett as he stretched out his hand and held hers, as they walked into the boat for a ride. There were a lot of maids on their beck and call.
As they stepped in, they were ushered into a place where they would relax. They were given all that they needed. They were treated like the royalty they are. King Amarok treated her like the queen she is. He said a lot of sweet things to her and was about putting a ring on her finger.
… “My Queen, his Majesty needs you in his chambers”. One of the maids told her as she touched her gently.
Everett jerked up from sleep, wiped her eyes. It was a dream after all.
