CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
At around ten-forty-five in the evening, I arrived at a house on North Plum Court for my shift on the surveillance team. Chief Carrillo had made arrangements with the leasing company for us use a two-story rental house that was between tenants. It wasn’t as near the target house as I would have liked, but from it, we could watch the approach to the house. Kameke Brown was already there when I arrived. Detective Emilio Vargas briefed us on what the first two shifts had observed.
“The van showed up this morning at about nine-thirty,” Vargas said. “Then, Kardashian showed up in a Mercedes with two young women at eleven. Kardashian and one of the young women left the premises at two-fifteen. The van was still there at three when Serrato and I relieved Johnson and Reyes. Ka
