Dorian was on a roll. Once he had started talking, he couldn’t shut up. He thought what he had done was so cool he couldn’t keep from bragging about it, even to me.
“And your uncle is in on the deal with Serge?” I said.
“Man, I’m not giving up family,” Dorian said. “Not even if you hit me some more.”
“Well, you said earlier your uncle gave Serge the job to recruit teenage talent,” I said. “So, I guess I already know he’s involved. I don’t need to make you confirm it. Let’s move on. When did you start doing the blackmailing?”
“Hey, man, that’s a terrible word,” Dorian said. “I’m not some kind of criminal.”
“Okay,” I said. “When did you get the idea for developing another income stream from your hobby?”
