Unraveling the Past

The next few days were a blur for Serena. Between school, her part-time job at the art gallery, and trying to keep herself together after the unsettling encounter with Damian, she barely had time to think. But that didn't stop her mind from racing. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Her life, the memories she had, the strange sense of déjà vu whenever she thought about Damian—it all seemed connected. But how? One evening, while Lena was out with friends, Serena sat alone in the apartment, staring at her sketchbook. She opened it to the last page, where she had drawn Damian again, without realizing it. His face was etched in every detail, his cold eyes staring back at her. A soft knock at the door startled her. Serena stood up, her heart pounding, wondering who could be visiting her at this hour. She opened the door, and there stood Enzo, the man she had seen beside Damian during their brief encounter. His expression was unreadable, his dark eyes cold as he took in her appearance. "Serena Callisto?" Enzo asked, his voice smooth but with an edge. "Yes?" Serena replied, her pulse quickening. "Damian wants to see you." Serena’s heart skipped a beat. Damian? Why would he want to see her? "Why?" she asked, her voice shaky. Enzo glanced at her, the corner of his mouth curving slightly. "You’ll find out when you get there. Come with me." Despite every warning bell ringing in her head, Serena nodded, grabbing her coat and following Enzo out into the cold night. Meanwhile... Damian was waiting for her at the De Luca estate, his mood a mix of impatience and curiosity. He’d spent the last few days tracking her movements, analyzing everything he could about her. And still, he was no closer to understanding why she felt so familiar. The sound of the door opening interrupted his thoughts. He stood as Serena entered, her eyes cautious yet defiant. "Why am I here?" she asked, crossing her arms. Damian studied her, taking in every inch of her delicate frame. His gaze lingered on her eyes, searching for something. “You’re here because I want to know who you really are,” he said, his voice steady, almost hypnotic. Serena frowned, confused. “What are you talking about?” Damian moved closer, his presence overwhelming. “I know you’re not just an ordinary girl. You’re the daughter of Alessandro Callisto, aren’t you?” Her breath caught in her throat. “What? How do you know that?” Damian’s smirk grew. “Because I know everything. Your birth name, your family—your past. You’ve been hiding in plain sight all these years.” Serena took a step back, her heart pounding in her chest. Her real name? She had never known. "You're lying," she whispered, shaking her head. “No,” Damian said softly, his gaze intense. “I’m not lying, Serena. You are my enemy’s daughter.” Her world tilted. The revelation was too much to process. She had always wondered who she really was, but never expected this. Damian’s voice cut through the silence, cold and controlled. “And now that I’ve found you, there’s nowhere to hide.”
