CHAPTER SIX The following Sunday after the show, the circus was on the move again. Alfonso, the driver came to collect the girls. Once again, he found them dithering in and out of the caravan and nowhere near ready for him to hitch up their wagon onto the back of his car. He stood with his hands on his hips, shaking his head at their incompetence. Knowing they were being observed made them even more nervous. Lisa had managed to raise the two back legs. She threw the cranking iron on the grass and ran around to the front to secure the jockey wheel. Wendy picked up the cranking iron with one hand and stood tapping it in the palm of her other hand.
