CHAPTER NINE
In the early hours of the morning, the girls were driven to an abandoned plot in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Theatre in Rio de Janeiro. They had hoped that, as they were not working in the tent, they would be able to have a bit of a lie-in, but it was not to be. Martina had woken them up at eight o'clock, to tell them that they would be expected to be at the front of the circus in approximately half an hour because the whole show was going to rehearse in the theatre.
