I skipped last period, opting to hang out in the weight room instead.  I knew my weight class would be held outside of the weight room today since they’d be focused on calisthenics and I figured I’d take advantage since I didn't want to have to deal with an entire period of awkward silence or worse, forced one-sided conversation with Phil.  I was on my third set when Coach Richards walked in, took one look at me, and frowned, taking a seat on the machine next to the bench press.  “Impressive,” he said, looking at the weight I was pressing.  “Could’ve used you this year.  You really let your team down.”        Yeah.  I’m aware.
