He was in my bed.  Spending the entire night.     I spent the first half of the night keeping him up, stealing kisses.  “I’m tired,” he whined, eyes shut with exhaustion.  But still, even when I laid there, staring at him, waiting, I could see the tip of his mouth hitch upward.  “Why won’t you sleep?” he whispered.     “I’ll wake up and you’ll be gone,” I grumbled.     He opened one eye to take in my expression before shutting it.  “I have church in the morning.  You know that.”     A huff.     He was smiling widely now, eyes still shut.  “Just close your eyes.”     “Shouldn’t you want to stay up with me?” I complained, pressing closer to him.     “I’ll be miserable tomorrow,” he whispered back.     “Won’t it be worth it?” I pressed, anxious.     “No.”     No.  He just said no.
