Phil's POV I didn’t want to go to the game. I wouldn’t have, actually, if Diana hadn’t just shown up on my front doorstep with her dad and Danny. Mom was pleasantly surprised to find them there while I’d been . . . surprised. Diana was the norm but I was surprised to see Danny. Mom was welcoming, immediately ushering the group inside and Danny almost immediately went starry eyed, his voice shifting as he muttered, “Pasteles?” He closed his eyes, breathing in the aroma of our cooking. “Oh man, it smells like my grandma’s cooking in here.” Mom brightened immediately. “Yes! You’re welcome to come eat if you’d like.” “Really? We don’t want to impose,” Diana's dad said. "No, don't be ridiculous," mom insisted, ushering everybody inside. "Come in, come in."
